'FILER' system for general file uploads to ezSiteThe FILER system was introduced to ezSite on Aug, 25th 2003. - This system was designed to allow ezSite users to upload general file types. - This section is NOT indended to be used for GRAPHICAL uploads, you Galleries are the best place to upload pictures to.This area was designed to allow general files to be uploaded to support the other content in your site. You may upload *ANY* filetype here. PDF, DOC, XLS, MP3, MPG are just some of the examples of the kinds of files that you can share with your users through this system. To upload a file simply hit the BROWSE button, find your file, then hit the upload button to upload it. - Remember that LARGE files will take forever to upload or download if you are on a DIALUP connection. We have included the FILE SIZE in all of the links to these files so that you users can make an informed decision on whether or not their connection will support downloading a file of the size which you have provided for them. - We suggest that you keep this information in any of the links which you put up onto your site. To Publish a file on your site: Look for the COPY LINK button next to the file information, click on this. You should get a popup confirmation alert box stating that the link has been copied to your clipboard. - Visit the page content editor for the page on which you wish to place the public link and paste the content of your clipboard into the content editor. - Remember to save your changes. - The link now allows access to the file which you uploaded. To delete a file: Simply click on the DELETE link next to the file's information. To rename a file: Simply click on the RENAME link next to the file information, then fill in the new filename, and submit the changes. Notes on Quota: The size of the files in this file area, and the images on your site are measured to make up the file space used by your site. - You have a Quota which you must operate within. - Once you have exceeded your Quota you will not be able to upload any more images or files to your site. You will need to remove some image or file content, or contact us to increase your Quota before you can resume loading more content onto your site. Advanced topic: Hiding your files and public listings..: There is a public listing of the files you have available on your site at the URL: '/FILES/' in your site. - To Hide a file from this public listing; click on the 'Hide from Public View' link next to the file information. Similar to reverse this action... The FILE ATTRIBUTES are shown in the [] marks within the file information. - notably: A is Archive bit, this shows that this file is yet to be backed up, H is Hidden, which hides the file from public view.
